GPP

GPP, or Geranyl Pyrophosphate, is a natural chemical compound involved in the biosynthesis of various plant molecules, including cannabinoids in the cannabis plant. GPP combines with other molecules to form the precursors to different cannabinoids, which eventually develop into well-known compounds like THC and CBD. It plays a crucial role in the formation of cannabinoids and their diverse properties.

GPP plays a major role in the production of terpenes and cannabinoids in the cannabis plant. In the process of cannabinoid biosynthesis, GPP reacts with another compound, such as Olivetolic Acid, to create CBGA. This reaction is facilitated by an enzyme known as Geranyl Pyrophosphate: Olivetolate Geranyltransferase (GOT). GPP is essential for the formation of a variety of plant compounds, making it a critical component in the complex process that generates different cannabinoids.
